Code 39 Barcode Introduction
Code 39, which is also known as Alpha39, Code 3 of 9, Code 3/9, Type 39, USS Code 39, or USD-3, was developed by Dr. David Allais and Ray Stevens of Intermec in 1974. It is a discrete linear barcode symbology used in a wide range of services, especially in non-retail services. This barcode type has been adopted as standard barcode by the United States Department of Defense, and is also used by the Health Industry Bar Code Council (HIBCC). Besides, it has been popularized by Electronic Mechanism Industry Association of Japan (EIAJ).

How to Install Code 39 Plug-In for Project
  1. 1.
    Download MS Project Code 39 add-in trial package and unzip it
  2. 2.
    Close all the Project programs on your computer
  3. 3.
    Click on the "KA.Barcode Add-In for Project" twice to run the setup file
  4. 4.
    Open Microsoft Office Project and an "add-ins" tab will be added
  5. 5.
    Then the barcode add-in is successfully installed in MS Project
How to Generate Code 39 in MS Project
  1. 1.
    Click on the add-in tab and the barcode setting panel appear on Project
  2. 2.
    Choose "barcode type" with "Code 39" in the property
  3. 3.
    Enter Code 39 valid encoding data, for example "CODE39" in the "data" box
  4. 4.
    (Optional) Set other properties or keep the default value for each option if not sure
  5. 5.
    Choose a place where the Code 39 will be placed
  6. 6.
    Click "update" to finish inserting a Code 39 on the Project
  7. 7.
    You'll see the Code 39 image appearing on the target place on the Project
